Kråkøy Norcod is proud to be part of Norcod: the world’s leading producer of premium Snow Cod and renowned for its sustainable and innovative aquaculture practices. Norcod is dedicated to environmental responsibility and top-quality fish production.

Location

Situated in Hongsand, Kråkøy Norcod is a vital contributor to the Roan municipality in Trøndelag. Originally established in 1973 as a fish reception facility, it expanded into salmon farming in 1985. As a cornerstone of the community, the company has consistently provided significant employment opportunities.

Policy and food safety

Kråkøy Norcod is dedicated to producing safe food, ensuring fish welfare, and meeting customer requirements while focusing on health, safety, and the environment. Our quality focus is supported by continuous improvement processes.

GLOBAL G.A.P. is a respected and internationally recognized standard portfolio for safe and responsible production processes in agriculture, aquaculture and other food production. Kråkøy Norcod and all of Norcod’s production sites are certified through GLOBAL G.A.P.

FSSC 22000 is a certification for the food manufacturing industry and the related supply chain to ensure food safety standards and processes, which is harmonized with the ISO Management System approach. Kråkøy Norcod harvesting plant holds an FSSC certificate.

Our history

The Sørgård family purchased Kråkøya in 1948, establishing a fish reception facility while also operating fishing vessels. Over time, they expanded their operations by producing fish products on the island, which were distributed to stores throughout Trøndelag. The processing plant itself was constructed in 1972.

Transparency Act

The purpose of the Norwegian Transparency Act is to promote businesses’ respect for basic human rights and decent working conditions regarding the production of goods and the provision of services. Furthermore, the Transparency Act must ensure the general public access to information about how businesses handle negative consequences for basic human rights and decent working conditions.

Kråkøy Norcod works actively to adapt to the requirements and expectations set by the Transparency Act. We are continuously in the process of assessing our own operations, suppliers and business partners. We will always answer all questions to the best of our ability in accordance with the obligation to provide information in the Transparency Act.
